Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). In her early years she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was six years old when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times, she and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records during the opening day and the very first weekend. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performance of the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance received nominations and was awarded five awards for the movie.
